Week 9 Draftkings Plays

After last weeks injury hurricane taking away some of the leagues best players, there are a lot of cheap plays that can be exploited. These plays can be used in cash games or tournaments with some obviously carrying more risk then others.

QBs:

Derek Carr ($5,500)- He lit up the top-tier Jets D last week, throwing for over 300 yards and a few touchdowns. Now he gets the soft Pittsburgh secondary in a game that should be high scoring. Carr can be fired up with confidence in all formats.

Peyton Manning ($6,300)- This is more of a contrarian play but I believe Peyton could be back. I don’t expect the Denver RB’s to have multiple rushing TD’s this week which should lead to a few passing touchdowns for Peyton. Indy’s secondary is nothing to be scared of besides Vontae Davis, and Peyton has 2 very capable receivers in Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders that could torch Indy.

Philip Rivers ($6,900)- Rivers should be able to do whatever he wants against this Bears secondary. Even though his top receiver Keenan Allen is out, he should be able to throw for 300 yards as long as this game remains competitive. Now that Matt forte is out, the Bears may struggle to control the clock like they want to, which should lead to ample opportunity for Rivers.

RBs:

Todd Gurley ($6,900)- This is the third week in a row I am recommending Gurley and his price is still at a point where I don’t see why I wouldn’t. He has been consistent but explosive and gets another solid matchup this week. He is $1,100 less then Freeman and has a similar floor and ceiling.

Jeremy Langford ($4,000)- Reports have said that Langford will handle a big workload on Monday. The chargers run defense is last in the league and has struggled to stop anyone. Langford has looked explosive when he has played this year and should make the most of this opportunity while Matt Forte is out.

Deangelo Williams ($5,500)– Remember in the beginning of the year when Lev bell was out and Deangelo Williams was one of the top scoring fantasy backs? Well he could pick up where he left off this week against an average Oakland run Defense.

WRs:

Antonio Brown ($8,100)- This is one of the best values of the week in my opinion. Big Ben is back and the Oakland secondary is soft. This game could also be a little higher scoring than you would expect and be the game that Brown reemerges.

Mike Evans ($6,800)- It looks like Austin-Seferians Jenkins and Vincent Jackson will both be out this week leading to lots and lots of passes thrown Evans’ way. The giants have given up tons of fantasy points to opposing WR’s and that should continue on Sunday. It also looks like Prince Amukamara of the Giants will be out so I don’t know who will cover Evans, or at least try.

Emmanuel Sanders ($7,300)- I like Peyton Manning this week, and I like Sanders over Demaryius. Demaryius usually doesn’t play great against Vontae Davis and the whole “#2 receivers v the Colts have good games” should pan out in this game. Sanders seems to be a sneaky elite play here.

Stevie Johnson ($3,200)- Pretty chalky play right here, but he should fill in Keenan Allen’s role for the rest of the season, getting lots of short passes. At this price I will have him in almost all of my lineups.

TEs:

Jordan Reed ($4,500)- The Patriots have been good at guarding the TE but lets face it, the Redskins will be playing from behind for the entire game. Once Cousins gets into catch up mode he will pepper his favorite target, Jordan Reed, with passes and hopefully rack up points in garbage time.

Antonio Gates ($4,700)- I am targeting a lot of players from this game if you can’t tell. It is a battle of above average offenses against some of the league’s worst defenses. Gates should be targeted more now that he is healthier and that Keenan Allen is out for the year.

D/ST:

Rams ($3,500)

Falcons ($3,300)

Broncos ($3,000)
